A carpenter carved these two blocks, and then put them together. How is this possible? Click the title and enter your answer! (If I already told you the answer, don’t enter it here! :P)
Well I would venture the following 2 guesses(if that is allowed).
Assuming it isn’t a trick performed by stain or venere (sp?)…
1) I would guess the one of the pieces has 2 parts. Cut on a diagonal, there by letting them slide together in the 2 dove tail grooves and come together with some clue and finished with sanding.
2) The Dove Tails are cut on an angle and by pulling the bottom half straight out towards you as shown in the picture the 2 parts would separate.
Well that is 2 possible methods to perform this look. I bet there are a couple others that I don’t know about.
I’ll have to see if I can get Zap Brannigan to part with one of his uniforms for you I did a model of exactly that in Solid Edge, I’ll see if I can post a screen shot of it!

Number 1: Nope… There is no glueing, no veneer, and it’s just two pieces… the top and the bottom.
Number 2: I don’t really understand what you’re saying, but it sounds like you might have it…
The dove tails are running // rather then + to each other… there by allowing one half to slide along the other. It sure looks cool.
So what do I win? Something with the sexy feel of valour???
Hehe
