Back At Last!

After several hours (24?  UGH!) of downtime at our DataCenter, we are finally back up!  I'm not impressed.  Less so because I run DFx.org, which is a company that supplies hosting for several other personal and commercial web sites.  You can bet I'll be keeping an eye out for a good dedicated server deal in the near future!

Our weekend was VERY busy…  On Saturday, we attended David and Tennille's wedding, and then the reception afterwards…  We had a great time!  Congrats to Dave and Tennille!  On Sunday morning, we drove to Estevan to visit my family and have supper with them for Father's Day.  Yesterday evening, I continued with the basement!

Here's a picture of the destruction in the basement so far:

This job is surprisingly relaxing! Who ever thought tearing things apart could feel so good?

Ripping apart a basement is surprisingly fun!  I did discover one crack in the wall, at about ground level behind the wall panels.  You might be able to see it on the right side of the picture.  Our home inspector told us that cracks at ground level are not a problem…  It's the cracks at the midpoint of the wall that might indicate the wall is buckling.  I don't know if there is truth behind this statement, so if anybody knows, please comment!

I'll keep you updated on my progress…  Tonight I might unhook some of the electrical, and set up my new flood lights ($25 at Canadian Tire)…  Once all the walls are down, I will unhook the cieling fixtures and rip out the cieling.  It's JUST ABOUT time to rent a dumpster for all the garbage.  I'm still not sure where I will put all the stuff in the basement during the renovation…  I guess the garage is as good a place as any!
